...Steve is a committed christian and has an active interest in bringing creativity into the arts. Christians who enter the arts, musical or visual, should be more prolific in their creativity if they are truly connected by faith to the one true creator of the universe!........ Unfortunately the church has been percieved as having a half hearted approach to engaging with modern culture, and a whole generation or two have simply left.....perhaps, in part due to the church becoming irrelevant....
I am really exited about how christian music has radically improved in quality recently.....just as our western culture is nose diving into musical and artistic recession....perhaps due in part to a false notion that artistic quality is proportional to monetary value.....some of the greatest musicians died in obscurity and poverty...eg Mozart!
Just as the Levites had the vital job, in ancient Israel, of bringing the people to the very throne of God in public worship.....today we need the modern equivalent to the Levite, combining holiness, dedication, genuine relationship with God, a servant heart, gifted with the power of exhortation, and prophetically gifted....these are the people we desperately need in the church today.......
Billy Graham was noted for his willingness to engage with the latest technology in his excellent gospel meetings....we need this same spirit to enable us to connect with modern culture and slow down the cultural meltdown we find ourselves in....christians should, as the apostle Paul said in romans 12....refuse to conform but instead be transformed by the renewing of our minds....and form an effective counter culture....
